Therapeutic Recreation

The Therapeutic Recreation Department provides organized recreation and leisure activities that are designed to enhance the "quality of life" of the residents and clients of Providence Place. Holistic recreation and leisure programming provides physical, social, intellectual and emotional challenges as part of everyday life. The individual needs of each resident/client are foremost when encouraging independence and developing leisure skills.

Each long term care wing and the GARU have a recreation staff member as part of the team of care providers. Upon admission to Providence Place a therapeutic recreation staff member will meet with the resident and contact the family to plan for the individual's leisure activities. Families and friends are always welcome to join in with recreation programs at Providence Place.
